Givenchy’s spring-summer 2017 campaign tells a tale of two worlds. According to WWD, Givenchy creative director Riccardo Tisci wanted to convey “freedom and serenity” for the advertisements. Models Irina Shayk, Lea T., Vittoria Ceretti and Faretta appear in the Mert & Marcus lensed images. The layout juxtaposes studio portraits with a desert landscape shot on location in Southern California.

“I want to make clear that we are welcoming different kinds of women, different kinds of men in our world,” Tisci told WWD. “We can dress a woman that’s more mature, more classic and a woman who is more street, more daring, stronger and more sensual — girls that like to play with fashion.” Carine Roitfeld worked as stylist for the campaign with art direction by Giovanni Bianco.
