Fitting for this season’s collection, Jean Paul Gaultier’s spring 2011 show opened with musician Beth Ditto and soon progressed into a parade of rock diva glamour. Bringing a sense of the futuristic to the catwalk, showgoers were given 3D glasses for the 3D prints featured on a few looks. The clothing was very much a mix of the masculine and the feminine, soft fabrics paired with sharp tailoring and androgynous styling brought a sense of true decadence and drama to the runway.
I felt like I should channel my inner David Bowie. Black denim pants with the two straps on the bottom, fantastic!
