If there’s one thing you should learn about Jourdan Dunn, it’s that you don’t mess with her kid. The British model recently went on Twitter to call out singer Lily Allen for her song “Insincerely Yours” which satires tabloid culture. In the song she names check Cara Delevingne, Rita Ora and Dunn (who recently posed for the #mycalvins campaign). The lyrics go, “I don’t give a f*ck about Delevingne / Or that Rita girl / About Jourdan Dunn / I don’t wanna know about your perfect life /…About your lovely house or your ugly kids.” Dunn then tweeted Allen saying, “Erm @lilyallen who’s ‘ugly kids’ was you talking about in this song??” says the mother of one (the song gets the ‘kids’ part incorrect).
Lily responded with “…it’s a reference to something another artist said about my children on twitter.also, only mentioned you cause your name rhymes with ‘one’. Sorry (sad face)” Dunn did not take the explanation too kindly, and wrote, “Ohh because my name rhymes with ‘One’!!! Look at you, you lil lyrical genius!!” For her part, Lily later tweeted on her account with “I’m sick of explaining my lyrics to people, they’re pop songs, no more, no less. If you don’t get it or like it, look the other way. Simples (sic)”
So what did we learn? Do not call Jourdan’s child ugly, people–she’s a definite mama bear.
she didnt call her kid ugly. The lines following Jourdans name were not about Jourdan specifically. They were general and harked back to when Azealia banks called Lilys kids ugly on twitter.
I, for one, think Jourdan reacted as any Mother should. Lilly Allen is in no position to mention the word ‘ugly’ about anything, really… However, beauty is purely relative.
