Country music star Kacey Musgraves lands the June-July 2015 cover story from Fader Magazine, sporting western style jewelry and a denim top. The singer poses for Daniel Shea in images where she rides on a mechanical bull, poses with horses and more.
In her interview, she talks about what she does not like about commercial country music in the past few years. “There was this cycle in Nashville where if you were a girl, you had to be really sassy: ‘You cheated on me, so I’m going to burn your house down,’” she says.
“I’ve never felt a kinship to those kinds of songs…The more country that my music gets, the less it fits into the country world today. It’s almost like there needs to be two genres, modern country and… country?”
