In light of working on the Jeanne Lanvin retrospective at the Palais Galliera in Paris, Lanvin creative director Alber Elbaz found himself looking to his own roots for the brand’s fall-winter 2015 collection. Inspired by his birth place of Morocco, Elbaz created oversized yet lean shapes for the upcoming season in rich, North African inspired colors while maintaining an urban dweller feel.
Made in washed silks, panne velvet and boiled alpaca; layering was key for the new season with plenty of outerwear on the runway including capes, sweeping coats and fur jackets. Evoking the fall collection’s wanderlust spirit, the Lanvin Nomad handbag is the latest it accessory to hit the catwalk. The city meets desert for a perfect mashup of cultures.
