‘The Age of Adaline’ takes place over nine different decades, with Blake Lively playing Adaline Bowman, who never ages after a freak accident. Angus Strathie, the film’s costume designer talks in a recent featurette about dressing someone for several decades. “Since the piece took place over almost a century, it was extra challenging to be able to define all those periods and all those moods and all those emotions of this character. What we thought was great, was to actually incorporate those vintage pieces into her contemporary look,” says Strathie.
