Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2014–Marking their first season as designers for Marc by Marc Jacobs, British duo Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley delivered a forward thinking approach to the line’s fall-winter 2014 outing. Previously the Marc line has been slightly seventies inspired with pajama dressing and loose silhouettes. Hillier and Bartley offered a change of pace with a street wear inspired take on outerwear. The silhouette of choice was a tailored, military inspired jacket paired with baggy pants. On her feet, the Marc girl wore a mix of sneakers and boots. Bold colors exploded on the runway with motocross influenced looks featuring words such as “Revolution” or “Twisted” proudly displayed on models’ chests. Elsewhere, the fall collection showcased the Japanese Lolita style with Victorian-esque skirts and oversized bows.
