Once considered rebel designs, tattoos are now becoming more mainstream and more popular as each year passes. Getting a cute small tattoo is no longer a sign of rebellion but something fashionable or spiritual.

From celebrities to ordinary people, everyone gets them. In Eastern cultures, they are even part of the religion. Some cultures consider them mandatory. In Hawaii, for example, they even have a tattoo god.

Rose tattoos, a cornerstone in traditional tattoo styles, are one of the oldest tattoos known to man, gaining popularity in both Western and Eastern cultures for varying reasons. The symbolism attached to the rose is invariably positive, yet it embraces a spectrum of meanings.

These include love, life, and birth, each a significant theme within the realm of the rose tattoo. Rose tattoos are permanent markings that one can get on their skin and are made by inserting the desired color ink under specific skin layers so that the final shape will represent a rose.

Tribal rose tattoos are also quite popular. With those designs, the tattoo is also decorated with various signs to keep it from getting dull.

Flower tattoos are popular, but the rose tattoo beats them all, especially among women. It is also popular with men but only in Western society, where it carries a deep spiritual meaning.

In the East, the rose is just a symbol of beauty and sensuality. Thus, only women get rose tattoos. Few people know that the rose is also a symbol of martyrdom.

This is one of the reasons that they are popular among inmates who consider themselves unjustly punished. And some appreciate the beauty of a rose. It also symbolizes love since plenty of lovers gift roses on special occasions.

What color should you choose for your tattoo? Almost any color works, and even black if you desire. Each color represents another quality, feeling, or emotion.

Take care when choosing as the black rose tattoo, for example, symbolizes death. A black design has been worn by many rockers, making it a great accessory to their outfits.

There are many colors to choose from when it comes to the flower. And each color has its unique meaning. For example, the dark red rose tattoo represents a beauty that is unaware of itself—an unconscious beauty.

The red rose represents respect, courage, and love. Blue roses, however, are the ultimate symbol of impossibility and inaccessibility. Everyone knows that the white rose represents purity and a young spirit.

However, getting a white rose tattooed is tricky, if not impossible, simply due to technological problems. The black rose tattoo is probably the only rose carrying a negative significance—death.

The tattoo you get will stay on your skin for the rest of your life, so take care when choosing. Doing complete and thorough research rather than deciding on the spot is advised.

If you have decided that you want a rose tattoo, just be careful when choosing the colors. Red is the color of love and life. Pink is the color of romance. Yellow is jealousy, while purple represents eternal true love.

White is purity, and black is death. Think about these colors and make sure you make the right decision. If you want a classic tattoo, you should go for the rose one.

You can also match the correct color with your personality by choosing the correct color. One thing you should be aware of, however, is that plenty of people get rose tattoos. So, if you want to stand out, get a unique design to stand out as an individual.
