Gamine Style
Genderless dressing is nothing new on the runway, but for the spring 2016 season, Paris designers made sure that menswear inspired details took the spotlight on the runway. From tuxedo jackets to slouchy trousers to relaxed shapes, gamine style was key. Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz took on the trend by doing boxy cuts in formal black and white.
Gamine Style—Celine’s Phoebe Philo showcased gamine dress with slouchy trousers and plaid prints. Paired with combat style boots, spring is all about letting out your inner tomboy.
Gamine Style—Saint Laurent’s Hedi Slimane is known for his slim cuts and for spring 2016, he took on the gamine trend with cool leather trousers, casual tees and pinstripes.
Gamine Style—Stella McCartney’s wearable yet effortlessly chic looks took an androgynous turn on the runway with oversized vests and relaxed fit trousers.
The Leather Jacket
The leather jacket is nothing new, and has been a fashionable statement since the 50s. For spring 2016, Paris-based designers took on the leather jacket once again in their own unique way. At Mugler, David Koma served up a cropped version of the leather jacket.
Leather Jacket–At Louis Vuitton, Nicolas Ghesquière took on the leather jacket with his cyberpunk slash futuristic showing. Decorated with stripes and the Louis Vuitton logos, this leather jacket made a bold statement.
Leather Jacket–Hedi Slimane is known for his leather jackets at Saint Laurent, and with the spring 2016 season, the designer presented even more outwear styles with zipper and fringe embellishments.
Leather Jacket—Anthony Vaccarello always embraces sexy, body con looks and at his spring 2016 show, he gave an oversized take of the leather jacket to temper those clinging silhouettes.
