Lily James on Casting Changing in the #MeToo Era
In her interview, Lily talks about casting in a post-Weinstein era.
“I’ve gone to meetings where I’ve been like, ‘Hang on, this kind of feels like a date – why does this feel like a date?’ she says. “I was saying to my friend, sometimes it just seems that directors cast people who they want to sleep with… They’re not allowed to think like that any more. They’ll be scared to act like that. It might go too far but it’s good, because now that total misuse of power has been highlighted on the front page of every newspaper, on social media. It’s everywhere.”
