David Sims

David Sims is a highly respected British photographer known for his influential work in the world of fashion. Born in Sheffield, England, Sims’ career took off in the mid-1980s in London where he worked as an assistant to the photographer Robert Erdmann.

He quickly made a name for himself with his distinctive aesthetic, characterized by its raw, undiluted and often gritty realism. This was a style that broke from traditional norms and brought a new dimension to fashion photography, adding depth and texture to the visual representation of fashion and beauty.

Throughout his prolific career, Sims has been commissioned to shoot advertising campaigns for major fashion houses including Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Prada, and Calvin Klein. His work extends to the editorial world as well, with his photography being featured in prestigious publications such as Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and W Magazine.
