The 2024 Pirelli Calendar, a significant edition marking its 50th anniversary, has unveiled a compelling celebration of Black talent, captured through the lens of the young visual artist Prince Gyasi. This year’s calendar diverges from the 2023 edition’s all-model lineup, featuring influential figures from entertainment, politics, and more.
The pages are adorned with iconic personalities such as actress Angela Bassett, renowned supermodel Naomi Campbell, celebrated poet Amanda Gorman, multi-talented artist and actress Teyana Taylor, and acclaimed author Margot Lee Shetterly.

Naomi Campbell, making her fifth appearance in the Pirelli Calendar, is depicted in front of a golden, liquified clock. The 90s supermodel is clad in a striking black dress with a plunging neckline, symbolizing the fluidity and relentless march of time.
Prince Gyasi, at just 28 years old, is one of the youngest photographers to helm this legendary project, bringing a fresh and dynamic perspective to the celebrated series. The theme for the 2024 edition delves into concepts of time, royalty, and space travel, expressed through Gyasi’s signature use of vibrant colors and opulent backdrops.
In a stunning image, Angela Bassett shines in an embellished, sheer gown, posing regally in front of a gold door, an oversized key in her hand. In a press release statement, Prince Gyasi emphasizes the calendar’s purpose as more than a mere showcase of celebrity and beauty.
“I want to tell a story that explores the power of how our achievements are experienced in the eyes of those we inspire,” he shares. This project transcends personal journeys, focusing instead on the broader community and, importantly, the youth.
Gyasi’s vision for the calendar is to provide inspiration and a sense of possibility for young people, encouraging them to see these images and be motivated to realize their fullest potential.
