Keratin bonds are a type of hair extension that is also called a bonded hair extension. These are made from natural hair that is meant to match yours without any major transition and has a sticky substance on one end. That is where the name originates. Typically women will say this is the best type of extension on the market. Let us explore that statement to see if their is more to the store. That is when you should know the positives and negatives.

The Positives

The hair is completely real hair. You know what this allows you to do? Well, it is very easy it allows you to do anything you need to according to Airyhair. You can curl it, dry it, and even add in color to the hair. Well, almost true. The first negative is what you need to see here for more information.

The extensions are going to be more than natural. These are going to have the same protein hair has in it, which is the keratin. This means they will not be damaging for you at all.

They are going to have a normal look to the hair. When you have these in, you will see they will blend in perfectly with your normal hair and even add some additional depth or dimension.

As far as the positives and the negatives for the keratin hair extensions, it will seem the negatives are quite a bit longer. Let us review that list now.

The Negatives Of This Style Of Extensions

This is the part that gets to have some tricks to it. While it seems like you would be able to do anything you want with this hair, since it is real human hair, it is very sensitive when it comes to the roots. This is where the glue is that is going to keep it stuck to your hair. This means you cannot really use a hot flat iron or even brush too hard when you are using these extensions.

These can also be seen as requiring quite a bit of maintenance. When you have had these installed the first time, you can expect to see the stylist every couple of weeks to make sure they are growing in properly.

These are a bond that you cannot reuse. Once they are in, they will stay in your hair for about five months, then you will have to take them out. The stylist will not be able to use these again. That means you will constantly have this expense every few months. This brings up to the next negatives.

These can be rather expensive at times. When you get a full head of hair from this it can easily reach into the thousands of dollars. Yes, you did not misread that, thousands of dollars. What is really bad, is the stylists are going to tell you that you should not go cheap when you get these because it could look bad. Remember this is real human hair and it is being glued to your head to give you a fashion, so you do not want to go cheap. The damage, if not done properly or done cheaply can be very bad.

Not only that you should set aside quite a bit of time to get this done because it takes a long time. The key factor for avoiding damage and a lot of time is how good the stylist is. No matter how good, though, the stylist will take at least three hours.

Not to mention a lot of people have reported it feels odd when they put their fingers in their hair. Not to mention the glue at the base makes it feel like you have something in your hair all the time. You may think you will be comfortable running your fingers through the hair, but remember it will feel like you have things in the hair!. Yikes!

That is the list of the positives and the negatives of the bonded extensions. What are your thoughts? Have you ever had them before? If so drop us a line and let us know what you thought of them.
