Lauren’s Mod SpringRalph Lauren was in a mod mood for his spring 2014 collection shown on the final day of New York Fashion Week. Sixties inspired minis paired with knee-high socks gave a retro spin to Lauren’s Americana aesthetic. Much of the collection played on graphic black and white with a mix of bold stripes, floral prints which appeared on trench coats and ties, and suiting. But then vibrant sapphire blues, canary yellows and scarlet reds were introduced by the way of daytime dresses and ruffle-adorned gowns. Closing the show was a red dress paired with an attached cape, showing the more glamorous side of the sixties.
