Haute Couture – Raquel Zimmermann is footloose and fancy free in Vogue Paris’ haute couture feature published in the publication’s November issue. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin with styling by editor in chief Emmanuelle Alt, Raquel serves serious face in the colorful designs of Atelier Versace, Elie Saab and Chanel Haute Couture.
I hope there was meant to be some sort of comedic effect with this editorial, because I found some of the facial expressions hilarious. It’s so overdone that it’s actually bearable. The styling is amazing, but that’s what you have to expect from Emmanuelle.
That totally rocks!!! Made me think of Tina Turner. So crazy and a little irreverent, it’s a nice change (for every now and then).
I see a little Tina Turner and a little Madonna influence.

I really, really love Raquel and I’m guessing that her expressions aren’t meant to be taken seriously. The clothing, along with the short hair, suggests that this should indeed be “fancy free” but the photography just weighs it down. I know that Inez & Vinoodh can do great work, so is it Emanuelle’s influence that is detrimental? Though the woman can style.
I’m sorry but I find this spread boring and ugly. The color treatment of the skin is like comic sans to a business letter
