In a bold move that fuses timeless fashion with modern technology, Ray-Ban and Meta have teamed up to launch a collection of smart glasses that are as stylish as they are functional. Unveiled at the annual Meta Connect event, this collaboration introduces 21 new styles, bringing a refresh into iconic designs like the Wayfarer frames from the sunglasses brand, a symbol of cool since the 1950s.
The collection also includes the newly introduced Ray-Ban Headliner, designed to offer a more universal fit. But these aren’t just any glasses. They’re the first eyewear to feature live streaming and built-in Meta AI. Imagine capturing and sharing your life’s moments in real-time, hands-free, without missing a beat.
Ray-Ban Meta 2023 Glasses Collection
With the ability to toggle between the glasses and your phone camera, you can broadcast your experiences on Instagram Live or Facebook Live for up to 30 minutes. The Meta AI, initially exclusive to the U.S., can be activated with a simple voice prompt: “Hey Meta.” This allows wearers to dive deeper into their creative moments and control various features on the glasses.
A more noticeable and enlarged LED light ensures that people around you know when you’re recording, keeping transparency at the forefront. As for customization, the “Remix” option allows you to tailor your glasses with over 130 color and style combinations, available exclusively on Ray-Ban’s website.
Priced at $299, these smart glasses are available for pre-order now and will officially hit the shelves on October 17th at Ray-Ban stores, online, and select EssilorLuxottica retail locations.
This launch follows Ray-Ban’s earlier Reverse collection, which experimented with innovative lens shapes. But with this new venture, Ray-Ban and Meta have truly set a new standard, blending iconic style with cutting-edge technology in a way that redefines what eyewear can be.
