Salvatore Ferragamo Fall 2014–While last season explored the pantsuit, Salvatore Ferragamo’s fall-winter 2014 collection did not have a pant in sight for its runway presentation held during Milan Fashion Week. Instead, creative director Massimiliano Giornetti opted for a showing of skirts, dresses, outerwear and knits in a moody color palette of grey, black, brown, green and orange. The Ferragamo woman embraces print for autumn–plaid turns into variegated abstracts which turn into large-scale animal patterns. Despite the lack of pantsuits, there is something quite powerful about the clothes this season. Perfectly tailored capes as well as coats with funnel collars create a strong silhouette for the upcoming fall.
