Rykiel’s Yellow Road – Known for fun, flirty shapes, the spring 2012 collection from Sonia Rykiel did not disappoint with feminine dresses and jumpsuits inspired by the 1920s and 1970s. Models walked down the chalk yellow runway in a joyful palette of ivory, canary and marmalade. Prints came in the form of floral motifs and stripes which accentuated pleat details and peekaboo cut-outs. Beauty for the show included soft curls paired with a nude lip for an uninhibited display of Parisian chic.
A yellow runway strip makes everything delicious! I always dig Rykiel and it’s fun to see the 21st century update of her aesthetic.
Has anyone else ever noticed that she’s never cast a model of color for the runway?
Never ever? In 40 + years?
Not true. For example, Shena Moulton in last year’s show. http://www.style.com/fashionshows/powersearch/slideshow?designer=design_house87&iphoto=133&origIphoto=24
Interesting and different.
Colours are genius!!!
