SwimsuitsforAll has launched a new social media campaign in response to the controversial Protein World ‘Beach Body’ advertisement featured in the UK. The Protein World advertisement features a slim and toned model with the question: ‘Are You Beach Body Ready?’ in bold letters. Some took offense to the fact that it only showed one type of beach body.
The Protein World advertisements were featured in the London underground, and were ultimately removed by TFL after weeks of controversy.
SwimsuitsforAll hit back with their own advertisement featuring curvy model Ashley Graham, who also starred in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition’s first plus size advertisement. The logo asked ‘Are You Ready for This Beach Body?’ with the hashtag #curvesinbikinis. Graham even says , “there is no reason to hide and every reason to flaunt” when it comes to the beach. Do you find the original ad offensive or is it just another way to advertise?
