With a spring collection inspired by Africa, Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli looked all over the world for the brand’s pre-fall 2016 collection. From the colorful images of Italian artist Elio Florucci to Japanese street style to the American southwest to the island vibes of Jamaica, the Valentino designers tapped into an eclectic range of influences. Taking in mind the various locations, the designers set the presentation in one of the world’s most diverse places–New York City–at a former Andy Warhol space on 880 Broadway. Hero pieces include embroidered coats with scenery of nature and butterflies or sheer gowns with lace embellishments. Continuing to embrace eclectic styles, models wore their hair in bantu knots for a tribal inspired look.
