For spring-summer 2017, Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli debuted his first solo collection for the Italian brand. The result was a lineup of over sixty looks that stayed true to Valentino under Piccoli’s former collaboration Chuiri, but evidently different. The silhouette was loosened with high necklines and slouchy trousers embroidered with natural scenes. Each look was paired with miniature lipstick cases made from crossbody bags on chains or leather. The color palette was more bold under Piccoli as well with vibrant red and shocking pinks. Embroidery was still a key focus of the season as gowns and coats alike are decorated with dreamy details.
