In 2016, many were surprised to hear that Victoria’s Secret would be stopping production of its swimsuit line. But according to Fashionista, the hiatus is short-lived. We can expect to see new bikini styles as soon as Spring 2019 according to L Brands CFO Stuart Burgdoerfer. Originally, Victoria’s Secret’s parent company L Brands closed the line to focus on lingerie and cosmetics. In recent years, the rise of brands like aerie and Savage by Fenty have added competition to the lingerie market. The news comes shortly after the announcement that Victoria’s Secret CEO Jan Singer resigned to be replaced by John Mehas of Tory Burch.

In addition to swim, VS may be entering other previously closed categories. Hopefully that means we will also see the return of the iconic Swim catalog. The brand also stopped producing print catalogs in 2016. The ads were often captured on location in vacation destinations like Costa Rica, Tulum and Hawaii. We can’t forget those sun-drenched shots starring VS’ most famous Angels. Take a walk down memory lane, and view the last catalog from 2016.
