Color Blocked Pre-Fall – Vionnet offers an elegant outing of color-blocking and bias cuts for its pre-fall 2013 collection. Inspired by the work of French-American artist Louise Bourgeois, the transitional season is based in a color palette of black and white with accents of emerald-green, sapphire, sea-foam and burgundy. Modeled by Hedvig Palm, the shapes are a mix of masculine and feminine with fluid draping and sculpted shoulders. Fabrics are rich, including duchesse satin, cady and sable crepes as well as fur trimmings and gold embroideries. Shoes and bags echo back to Vionnet’s founding with subtle bias and diagonal cuts in suede, leather, crocodile and satin for a luxurious touch.
