What About Yves founder Jeanine Heller is being sued by Saint Laurent (or more accurately, Luxury Goods International) for a parody tee that has been sold for over two years. The tee (image above) reads ‘Ain’t Laurent without Yves’, citing the name change in 2012 spurred by new creative director Hedi Slimane who dropped the Yves from Saint Laurent to much buzz.
According to Fashionista, Heller filed for a trademark registration for ‘Ain’t Laurent Without Yves’ in 2013 but it was rejected due to the similarity to the Laurent name. Despite being notified by Luxury Goods International about the trademark violation, Heller continued to sell the t-shirts and even offered to sell the brand to Saint Laurent at one point. Heller was also in trouble last year for doing a design featuring the Chanel CC logo.
