Always a label with the flair for the dramatic, Dolce & Gabbana’s spring 2011 campaign is a cinematic event starring leading models Alessandra Ambrosio, Isabeli Fontana, Maryna Linchuk and Izabel Goulart. In front of Steven Klein’s lens, the trio shows off designers’ Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana’s lacework designs. / View behind the scenes photos here
this is interesting.
but what happened to Alessandra’s face in the last shot? not a good look
This is quite intense. Reminds me a bit of the Prada S/S 2009 campaign.

trio doesn’t mean four, it means three…
The reflections on them make it hard to focus on what we’re viewing. But love that image with the three Brazilians staring at Maryna… hah!
what is going on with their facial expressions? I like this but its badly executed
the lighting and the (unflattering) facial expressions of the models make it very difficult to focus on the clothes. as said above, the idea is good but the end product is sadly unsatisfactory.
It’s interesting at least and I love Maryna here, especially in the last one she looks so pretty with the veil.

Maryna and Izabeli are flawless in these; Izabel holds her own… Aless? Oh dear…

This is one of the worst campaigns of the season. Was pysched for it when I heard the cast, but the final product is lame even by Steven Klein standards.
This is a truly hideous campaign for what looks like a decent collection, Ambrosios face in the last shot looks practically retarded, Goulart is NOT a strong model in any way, the only one who still somehow manages to look decent is Maryna.
Bad, really bad.

Ummm………I like the kittens?
Seriously though, the drama, the water-reflection effect, the casting; all great ideas, just not executed too well.
Isabeli, as always a star.
can’t say i’m a fan of the campaign, but i love this collection. beautiful and very feminine.
Now I can see why commercial models are mostly commercial models…I do not and CANNOT believe their modeling. It looks like Alessandra and Izabel are “trying to model” rather than just modeling with a presence. Very weak models, they ruined this campaign. I like Maryna but she doesn’t shine here either, the only one who I remotely believe is, Isabeli. I can see why she gets alot more work than any of them now. Photography is bad as well.
If it’s intention was to look awful to make you look at it compared to the perfection of everything else in a magazine then it succeeded.
I like the 2nd to last photo.
